Thomas K. Beckett joined NW Financial in February of 2013. Mr. Beckett brings with him over thirty years of experience navigating the financial, political, regulatory and policy environments surrounding economic development, human services, healthcare, education, non-profit and local government entities. Tom has developed a particular expertise in project financing and strategic consulting involving multiple governmental, private, and non-profit parties. A confident communicator in a variety of media and settings with diverse audiences including community groups, legislators, administrators and boards of trustees, Tom has been an issuer, consultant, financial advisor, verification agent, investment banker, strategic planner and confidant to financial professionals during his career.

Tom has closed over $10 billion in transactions for over 300 clients including project financings of student housing and auxiliary enterprises, academic medical centers, and research, convention/hospitality and healthcare facilities. Core competencies include:

While at NW Financial, Mr. Beckett has served as lead advisor on high-profile nonprofit consulting engagements including a $1 billion acquisition of Albert Einstein College of Medicine by Montefiore Medical Center.

An active volunteer in his community, Tom served as President, Treasurer and board member of the ARC of Chester County. The ARC delivers educational, recreational, advocacy and therapeutic services to disabled children and adults in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The ARC’s budget is approximately $10 million annually. During his tenure as President, Tom led the regular strategic planning process; recruited a new Executive Director; provided leadership for the new Executive Director during a funding crisis occurring immediately after the transition between executive directors; developed compensation and human resources policies to attract, retain and reward top talent in a revenue-constrained environment; represented the ARC throughout Chester County speaking before community groups, lobbying legislators for increased funding, and asking for money from local and regional foundations; recruited industry experts as volunteers for a newly formed audit and compliance committee.

Mr. Beckett also served as a founding trustee and Chairman of the Community Trust of Pennsylvania, an organization dedicated to serving the financial needs of the disabled. Trust grew to $42 million AUM in nine years. During this time, he wrote investment policy; negotiated trust/custody agreements and recruited and supervised two executive directors.
