Mr. Whitman joined NW Financial in April of 2004 with over 20 years of corporate and project finance experience, primarily in the waste-to-energy industry. Mr. Whitman serves as Senior Vice President helping clients structure and finance projects providing public services such as waste disposal and water treatment. Mr. Whitman also helps municipal clients achieve the lowest cost for their waste-to-energy projects, while still enjoying a high level of service.
Prior to joining NW Financial Group, Mr. Whitman played a leading role in the start-up and management of Covanta Energy's (renamed from Ogden Corporation) waste-to-energy business for 15 years. He was Chief Financial Officer of Ogden 's energy subsidiary for 10 of these years. He directed financial operations, resolved contract and client issues, and generally helped manage day to day operations. He was also involved in the structuring and financing of several of the WTE projects and led the restructuring of distressed projects. Prior to this, Mr. Whitman served as a division controller for General Chemical Corporation.
Mr. Whitman has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University .
